Easter Weekend!

We love Easter in our family! Not only is it a great day to reflect on the resurrection of Jesus from the dead(the most important part), it's also a time that you remember what you did for Easter as a child and hope to impart these lessons, great memories and some new traditions on your kids. This year we did church on Saturday evening. The pastor said that we shouldn't worry that it wasn't Easter Sunday yet because it was already 1 o'clock in Jerusalem (funny when he said it). We also went to the Eggstravaganza at Jackson's school and finished the weekend off having an egg hunt in our house for Jax and Savanny! They enjoyed the weekend and so did Sophie and I. Here are a few pics from the weekend:

Waiting for the egg hunt and recharging
Savannah snuck an egg before time

And she's off...
As the hunt started, Savan found a good spot and got about 12 eggs!
Jackson ran past 50 eggs for these first few...
...but who needs 50 when you can get 60? Doin' it big, just like dad used to!

Posing for pics, Savannah wanted to eat goldfish.
I guess the hunt made her hungry!

Showing dad my score!

Proud mom

Savanny has a couple of eggs in her hands that she is playing like symbols
and not at all interested in taking a picture!

The Easter Bunny leaves presents?
Egg full of goldfish and cheesy bunnies (her favorite!)

Jackson's question as he finds this, "On my basketball hoop?" Like
will this bunny just put eggs any and everywhere?

No Easter candy tasting is complete without a chocolatey-guey-creamy Cadbury Bunny Egg!!!... and no, she didn't finish it! She did get a nice bite out of the top and had some cream, but Jared  finished it off! Jackson did not like his, so Jared ate that one too!

Post chocolate bite smile!
Peeps on a stick! (Sophie's fave. Savannah only saw hers in the basket, mom ate it not long after LOL)
Mmm Easter bunny pancakes and found eggs, but the new addition to Easter breakfast were the...

Resurrection rolls! Can't you imagine this flakey sweet and cinnamonny hunk of dough as an empty tomb hence the name? Great idea from Sophie and recipe credit to allrecipies.com.
Happy Easter!

Matthew 28:1-10
After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb. There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.
The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: 'He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.' Now I have told you."
So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples. Suddenly Jesus met them. "Greetings," he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him. Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me." (NIV)
