This is the garden's fledgeling state. Day 1 which I think was April 1. It's 6'x2'. We also have two more beds the same size, one with herbs and one with more veggies. The veggie containers have Early Girl and Big Boy tomatoes (ok so they are fruit), Banana Supreme peppers, string beans, beets, radishes, garlic, leeks, sweet corn, cucumbers, sweet mint, sweet and Thai basil, yellow bell pepper, jalepenos, strawberries (Elan variety), crook-neck squash and swiss chard.
We have already made salads from the chard and basil, a nice pesto from the basil, parsley and some unplanted garlic, and a frikken tasty salsa which included some cilantro and parsley which was Jackson's addition. I can definitely say Sophie, Jackson, Savanny and I have all enjoyed the small production the garden's have already given us. It tastes better knowing it came from my back yard! Ain't God good? |
Impressed with the garden!! Impressed with the blog, too.
